Treehouse of 4

I have known the Rowntrees long before there was a house with 4 kids.  Now their house is full of laughter, screams, and a bit of boy talk from Michael (the Dad) and Hudson (4).  Alicia has her hands full but Anna (the oldest) was basically born an adult.  Michael and Alicia really are great examples on how to purposefully love your kids.  Now introducing #4 Molly.

Adam and Liz

Adam and Liz are some of our closest friends.  Liz wanted to take photos for their first year Wedding Anniversary.  We were a few months late and we picked one of the most hot and humid days of spring (even though you luckily can't tell in the photos).  Adam and Liz did a "first look" for their wedding and she was holding balloons when she walked up to greet him.  And now that explains the balloons.  And wine you ask?  Why not is the explanation for that.  We have drank many bottles of two buck chuck from Trader Joes with them.  Congrats on your Anniversary Adam & Liz!  Here is to lots more laughs and bottles of wine!

Next time Adam gets a Sippy Cup!

The Fishers

Growing up my brothers told me I was adopted from the Frog Face Family.  It was kind of easy to believe because I was the youngest and only girl but mainly because we looked NOTHING alike!

There is no hiding that the Fisher Girls are sisters.  They are both gorgeous and very easy to photograph.  We had a lot of fun taking their photos at an old Cotton Gin in Rowlett.

Megan Alleman

As a girl you always what you don't have.  I would trade my ultra straight hair for Megan's incredibly curly hair!  I have known Megan for a few years now and when she showed up for her session, I was shocked how beautiful she looked.  She has a beautiful smile and a more beautiful heart of service.  She recently was accepted as a chapilan in the Army.  This has been a dream of hers and she made it happen.  So proud of you Megan!

Chavez Family

Vanessa is a very special person in my life.  If it wasn't for her I don't think I would be who I am. She mentored me through that awkward stage of life called Junior High and High School.  She fought me life long cooking lessons like chili flavored beef does not make good spaghetti.  David, her husband, on the other hand taught me things like...cross country skiing is like peeing against the wind...men!

I was in Amarillo to visit my parents and she asked me to take some family photos.  Her girls are by far the sweetest and cutest kiddos.  They even love each other.

Justin & Emily's Wedding

Justin and Emily are just about the cutest couple around and they picked an incredible location for their wedding.  They were married at Stonebriar Country Club at sunset which made for beautiful colors in their photos.  Getting to know Emily…she LOVES colors…or just pink!  From shoes, to bridesmaids, to flowers, to tablecloths….there was a bit of pink!  Which just happens to be one of my favorite colors too!

We had a blast taking the bridal party photos.  Until we got in trouble for having the golf cart on the green…oops!  Sunset pictures are my absolute favorite so I kept stealing Steve Jobs favorite phrase, “One more thing!”

Justin and Emily met at Kohl’s when Justin hired Emily to work for him.  I guess he thought she was too cute to let go!   They just seem so natural when they are with each other.  No posing necessary!  Stand there and look cute were their instructions.  I am always amazed at people who are so photogenic.  There’s a reason I like to be behind the camera!

Justin and Emily trying really hard to cut the cake but it just wasn’t happening.  And then they realized the bottom of the cake was fake.  It is amazing how hard it is to cut Styrofoam!  We had a great laugh.  And the cake cutting ended in a cake fight!  Love it!!!

Getting ready for the bouquet and garter toss, the DJ instructed the guests to pose for the camera… kind of a bad idea when you have flowers flying toward your face…we had a bit of a mishap.

Jake & Christine's TCU Wedding

Christine and Jake had a beautiful June wedding at TCU in Robert Carr Chapel.  Can you guess their wedding colors?  Purple, Purple, Purple!  They are very proud to be Horned Frogs!

Detail.jpg

Christine and Jake met at TCU..technically online!  They had mutual friends so they became Facebook friends.  After several long conversations on chat, Jake asked Christine out for coffee.  Christine, being the planner that she is, made plans after their coffee “date” just incase it went bad!  Too bad it was amazing and she had to leave early.

Jake & Christine.jpg

The ceremony was so perfect it almost made me cry!  My favorite picture of all times is when the groom first sees his bride.  Jake could not hold back his tears.  And I don’t blame him because Christine looked absolutely STUNNING!  You could feel the love between them the entire ceremony.  Jake’s brother even had to comfort Jake as he read his vowels to Christine.  I was so happy to be a part of the making of this new family.

And then the party started!  Christine’s family being from NY and Jake’s family full of jokesters, I had some amazing reception photos.  If you are looking for a reception, I highly recommend Ashton Depot.  And hire me because I want to shoot there again!!!  The staff was so attentive to Jake and Christine’s needs (and you don’t see that a lot)!

Reception.jpg

Of course there was a bit of TCU flare at the reception.  The grooms cake was the spitting image of frog fountain.

Reception.jpg

The night ended with a final dance with just Jake and Christine as the guest lined up to light their sparklers.  Christine and Jake left in a vintage fully restored Corvette.  Thank you Christine and Jake for letting us be a part of your special day!  We are excited we still have your day afters photos coming!!!

Baby Will

There is something so sweet about new life.  Everything seems simple and real.  William Isaac Duke is the first born of Jonathan and Jenny.  There is no doubt that they will be the best parents to William. Their family pictures with Finnius and Shameous makes me laugh!  Jonathan and Jenny sat in the grass and their Dachshunds posed themselves naturally in the photo, turned their heads toward the camera and “smiled”.  We share an equal love for Dachshunds.  They tried to lock the Dachshunds in the kitchen during William’s session, but that was not ok with them!  They ended up in their laps to keep them quite.  It made me laugh because anyone who has Dachshunds knows that they have to be in the center of the action!

Shanna Tims - Family Photos

Shanna is a local photographer in Fort Worth.  Her entire family was getting together for the first time since her adorable little ginger was born.  So...there was a need to update the family photos.  As a photographer, we often forget to get on the other side of the camera from time to time.  It was fun to meet her family and also a little nerve racking taking photos of another photographer!

Devin turns 2

I can’t believe my nephew is 2 years old!  He is has so much energy and is 110% boy!  He loves to climb and put things on his head.  We took him swimming and he would not stay in the water.  He would throw his floaties out of the pool and then climb out and throw them back in the pool.  That went on for a good 35 minutes!

He is the first kid in the family so every time he comes to town I have to go shopping for a new outfit and take a few pictures!  He is obsessed with his young so I have about 2 pictures where he isn’t sticking out his tongue.  Every time he climbs on something his tongue is sticking out.  I guess it helps him think…

Emily's Arboretum Bridals

Emily chose the perfect location for her bridals.  I have shot multiple times at the Botanical Gardens in Fort Worth, and it is quickly becoming one of my favorites.  After shooting her wedding last week at Stonebriar Country Club, I realized how much she loves color!  The second to last picture was her bridal portrait at the wedding.  Her mom said it looks like, “You ware walking down a path and you meet Justin.  You look up and have a huge smile because you are so happy!”  Every picture looked like it was out of a fairy tale.

Enjoy her pictures and keep an eye out for her wedding blog!

Lauren's Bridals

That moment when the Universe seems to be corroborating with your creative vision......that moment was Lauren's bridals.  We started off on one of the most gorgeous Catholic churches in Muenster, TX.  We then moved to a beautiful house on a farm right as the sun started setting.  The lighting was gorgeous and be bride was even more gorgeous.

Cory & Jordan's Wedding

Cory and Jordan’s wedding was a very special wedding for me.  I mentored Cory in high school and saw her grow and transform to a beautiful woman and now wife!  Being a wedding photographer is so fun because you get to witness so many special moments from the engagement to the wedding day!

The wedding was at Marty Leonard chapel which is now one of my favorite locations.  The chapel is brilliantly painted in natural light, and since they don’t place any restrictions on photographers, I could get pictures from every angle!  Which was perfect for the romantic Cory, who wanted pictures capturing the look on Jordan’s face as she came into view.

The reception was at the Woman’s Club of Fort Worth, a venue charged with vintage charm. I loved the understated elegance of Mason Jars wrapped in lace filled with simple pink and white roses as centerpieces.  She is the ultimate crafty lady and made everything from metal trays with chalkboard paint for table signs, a Carter Reception plaque, vintage contrasting china plates for her candy display, and even all of the bouquets.  The Carters have some of the most eclectic friends!  I had to include the timeline of the bouquet and flower toss.  Check out the bridesmaid that gets hit in the head with the bouquet.  It broke apart so 2 girls got 1 flower.  I guess that means they are second and third in line for marriage!

When departing  the reception, they passed through a sea of guests waving streamers with bells attached shouting well wishes to the happy couple!

Cory's Bridals

I have a love/hate relationship with bridals.  They are one of my favorite sessions because the bride gets to see how beautiful she is.  However, you don’t get to post them for 2 months!  Luckily Cory’s wedding was tonight.  She has the most perfect smoldering sexy look.  We did here session right as the wildflowers began to bloom and found the PERFECT field!  Stay tuned for their wedding pictures.

Cory & Jordan's Engagements

Cory had her heart set on an overgrown field for her Engagement session.  Her and Jordan drove out to White Rock Lake, only to find that all of the fields had been mowed!  Luckily Facebook saved the day!  A friend of hers suggested this perfect location for an Engagement session.  Jordan and Cory are an amazing couple and definitely know how to take amazing pictures!

Lauren's Fall Bridals

Lauren and Justin exchanged vows just this past weekend. Which made us
happy for two reasons. First, we got to witness one of the sweetest and
most beautiful ceremonies ever. Second, we get to post some of her bridals!
We spent a wonderful day in Tyler, TX this past fall shooting with
her. Lauren made the day so fun and easy that we didn’t want to stop
shooting. She was a gorgeous bride and we know she is going to make an
excellent wife. Congratulations Lauren and Justin!
